cdanteek
It appears to be one of the MS Windows Security updates, it's a known issue. I am logged in as an administrator, but that doesn't matter I have checked the MS Knowledge base, but so far I don't see a way around it. Is there any other way I can get that file? If you know what update has caused it can you find it and uninstall it in add remove programs? You have to change view to show updates, view installed updates.. cd
firenhancer
By the way, DO YOU KNOW HOW TO SOLVE the "DVD disactivated" issue ??? Thanks again. Pikaxu. Can you expand further on the issue.
Pikaxu
Glad this has been resolved Well, I am on VISTA with same problem. I had first another problem (DVD not active ?!?!). Then, trying to solve this I made several installation of EMC9. Installations were OK bur DVD still not recognised. Then on last installation (after many uninstall / install) I had [on VISTA] the problem of "Invalid CD-Key". I tried your trick and ... IT WORKS ON VISTA TOO THANKS a lot By the way, DO YOU KNOW HOW TO SOLVE the "DVD disactivated" issue ??? Thanks again. Pikaxu.

firenhancer
Yes, I've tried that. None of what should work will allow me to extract the file I don't suppose that Roxio could just sign the file and end all of this confusion?! Forget the rest. Belezebub
If Windows is blocking a perfectly valid file, there's something seriously amiss with your operating system more so than a problem with an application You are logged in as an adminsytaror aren't you? Belezebub
What do you mean, when you say you weren't allowed to access the emc9rmv zip file? That sounds like a permission problem. You could try the following, but read the entire post, before doing anything: http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=16179 When I try to extract the exe file, it is blocked by windows. No matter what I try, it won't allow me to extract it. See the message given below: "Windows has blocked the file ... from being extracted. Would you like to continue trying to extract files, skip all further blocked file notifications, or cancel the extract operation" Also the problem is not uninstalling Roxio EMC9, it's already gone, nor do I have any problems editing/changing or adding to the registry. The problem is that the installer is telling me that my CD key is invalid! Hence the need to extract the file
firenhancer
If the above does not help, 1. Ensure your date/time settings are up to date. 2. Click on Start --> Run --> Type Regedit Locate or find reg key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{938B1CD7-7C60-491E-AA90-1F1888168240} Locate or find reg key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Roxio Delete the above keys. 3. Try installing the product again.
