How Do I Back Up Program Install Disks?

lenrapp

Question

I have an Mac and Toast 10 Titanium for the Mac. I want to back up some of my original program installation disks. One of them is on a dual layer disk and I was able to make a image tile using Toast, but when I attempted to make my copy, it said the file was too large and wouldn't allow me to record it.

I thought I was able to record over multiple disks if a file was too large to fit on one disk. I didn't see any way to do this. Should I attempt to zip the toast image file and then copy it? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You have 2 choices -

1. You can backup saved disc image files to the Physical disc. In such a case, you will have to copy the image file back to hdd, mount it and then attempt installing any program.

2. You can burn single image files to single disc. If the original disc is a DL media, you will be required to burn the image to a DL media using Image copy option. The same will be applicable to other CD or DVD media.
