Constant crashes in VideoWave

teal01

Question

:angry2: I'm totally frustrated, thought Roxio Creator 2010 offered everything I needed for video but I can make NO progress since it constantly crashes, primarily when I'm (1) trying to "split" something and (2) trying to add narration. Have to re-start computer to get out of it.

At first I thought the problem was working with too large a production, but same happens with a small one. Occasionally, it will do a split and continue on ... rarely. Occasionally it will add 1 or 2 short narrations, then blow up with I click on the narration icon ... usually giving an error message that the narration module couldn't initialize.

I'm running Vista 64-bit, have plenty of memory and disk space, a high end graphics card ... Any suggestions or is this software just full of bugs???

It takes no longer to give us the information than to post what you did.

What CPU /computer do you have? Have you updated the drivers for that video card? What else do you have running when you are doing video editing? Turn off or set your anti-virus to not check for files already on your computer. If is running, then it is trying to do the check while you are trying to do the editing. Have you tried using the "software render" options (Video Wave, top menu, options, tools, put a dot near software)? Just to see if that improves the performance.

Are you doing standard definition or high definition? Where did you get the video files? What format are they?

When you installed the program did you generally follow this procedure especially turning off the anti-virus?
