I have been loading videos in to MyDVD from my Sony HandyCam (HDR-SR11) for over a year. The first time I bring the videos into MyDVD , I always get the message “To use the file it must be converted to an editable format. The original file will not be affected. Would you like to convert it now,” of course I click “yes.” Then the box with message “Converting…name of file.mpg” opens and shows the progress until completed, however today after the progress is about half complete, an additional message appears “Unable to open file for transcoding. You may not have permission to copy this file.” The file plays fine on Windows Media Player. Can anyone tell me why this is happening, and how and it can be corrected? Prior to today I have followed these steps hundreds of times with no problem. I have restored my system to a previous date so this problem has to be in MYDVD.
