effminus
I need some help with Cineplayer BD. I am having an issue where the player makes it to a certain part in a movie ie. a night at the museum battle of the Smithsonian and starts to pixelize and at times stop playing. I know the blu-ray disc is fine, it works in 2 other blu-ray players. I know the blu-ray drive is fine, when downloading trials of other programs they run it just fine. I dont understand how this happens. I am using Windows 7 x64 ultimate. I have a 1080p monitor and a gtx 260...if it matters im using a core i7 920 and have 6 gbs of ram. The hardware I do not believe is the issue. I have tried disabling the hardware settings and such as outlined in the faq that were sent by roxio support. I am still having the problem. I am really upset because I have a useless 50 dollar program...any help would be appreciated.

firenhancer
And you have updated drivers for the video card? And does it happen to DVDs or any other BD movie?

d_deweywright
the drivers are up to day, just this bd but it plays fine in any other blu ray player or software.. So, if other BD discs play okay in this drive then we should be able to conclude that the hardware and software works okay. One disc causes troubles on this drive/system/software. Even though it plays fine elsewhere (and I assume the other discs do too) then the conclusion I reach is a problem with this particular disc and reader. That's how I read the symptoms. Others may have a different conclusion, but pixilization and "stuttering" indicates a problem reading the disc, in my experience. You say other software plays it okay... on this same system? If so, that's a bit harder to explain, unless there's an encoding oddity on this disc (or decoding oddity in Cineplayer), in which case, use the other software to play it. I don't have a better solution at this point.

firenhancer
yes i downloaded a competitors program and it works fine, which absolutely baffles me. same computer same hardware.. You could try 2 different things 1. Try uninstalling and re-installing the product 2. Create a new user account with admin rights and test with this new account. What version of the Roxio software do you have? If it is Roxio Creator 2010, you need the Blu-Ray Playback Plug-In to play commercial Blu-Ray discs. And, for some, it still won't play, in Cineplayer, until you go to Settings/Video, and click in the circle to the left of Off, under Hardware Acceleration (DXVA), click Apply, then restart Cineplayer.
