Movie convert and burn hangs

tmccollough

Question

Don't know if anyone else is having this problem but whenever I start the program and open the section where you can convert formats and burn a DVD the program starts seems to start the conversion process and thsn just sits there. When I attempt to close/cancel the process it will not cancel and the only way I can clost that is to either restart windows or close it using control/alt/delete and end program. The software was working fine untill about a week ago. I have made numerous attempts to obtain assistance from Roxio and a couple of times they assigned a ticket number and ask me to send tham a file (msinfo) and now when I try to send the file the internet page just recycles back to the begining. I have tried many times to let them know but then after their 5 day period they closed the ticket as resolved and now I have no way to contact them outside of their $1.89 a minuite phone call. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, tmccollough

Use paragraphs, it is like trying to read one big sentence

Add/Remove Programs choose 2010 and it will offer a Repair. Take it and see if that helps.

Jim, Thanks for the reply and information.
I have already tried doing that. Nothing
seems to fix it. I finally received a
reply from Roxio this AM and all they
wanted to know is what kind of tiles I was
trying to convert. That shouldn't matter
since it was working and now it's not.
I also tried remove and clean reinstall
no luck there either.

Try to track down what was added to your computer, between the time that it worked and now.

Did you download, and install, the Roxio Creator 2010 SP2 update?

I am having this same problem. When trying to convert it gets to 8% and stops. I am using Windows 7. Any help will be appreciated.

I assume you are using Video Copy & Convert?

What kind of files are you trying to convert? The OP refused to answer that question since he seems to think that it doesn't matter but it does.

You could also use Videowave (Edit Video - advanced on main menu page) to see if it will convert there.

I am also having the same problem; " Gets to 8% and hangs. ". Help please!!!

You read the above. Answer the questions.

Do you have the same computer and OS as the others? If not, start a new thread. This one is already confusing enough - if there are replies, no one knows how they were intended for. Electrons to post to this forum are cheap, waste a few more by being wordy and providing details.

windows 7 64 environment here. Video convert is now giving me the same problem. It hangs the minute it starts. THe only new software installed on the computer is an HP wireless printer driver. Hopefully someone will offer a solution. Bummer!

Did you update 2010 to SP2?

Shut off your antivirus and do a repair in the Windows Add or Remove programs. Reinstall SP2.

Start a new thread if that doesn't work.
