mydvd 8 and dazzle question

Jim B

Question

I'm using EMC8 and a Dazzle DVC 100 A/D converter. In the 'DVD and Video' section there are several ways to make a dvd. when you go to 'capture' in any one of them, you are lead to 'my dvd 8". When you select capture in Mydvd8 you are lead to 'Roxio media import'. It asks for a source to import from. I select the dazzle device. On the next screen, it asks for a sound device, Agani I select the dazzle. In the box under sound is a box titled 'input'. That box has 'microphone' selected and I can't change it. Set like that, I can import video but no sound. Can some one help me with this problem?

PS. I also have Sonic my dvd 6 available on my computer, When I run it, it defaults to the dazzle hardware. The line box has microphone listed but it's grayed out. I can capture video and audio perfectly with this software. If there were some way to gray out the microphone in Roxio media import, things just might work.

Thanks, Jim B.

Jim, have you gone to the Pinnacle web site to update the drivers for your DVC 100 for your operating system? Perhaps that is all you need to do. Actually, this was a common problem with that type of device. After you update the drivers, make sure you use a USB device on the back of your computer (if it is a desk top). Do not use the front USB device or a USB hub.

Once you install the device drivers and have the device plugged in, look at the computer hardware manager and see if the device sows up in both the video and the audio devices. It should show up in both.

Although that is an old device, you might want to look at the Pinnacle forums. There were many issues related to the proper functioning of the device.
