packet writing and standby/hibernate

parkc23

Question

Hi,

I have some problem with standby/hibernate when a file written in packet writing is left open (for example, an open pdf file from CD-R or RW). This prevents my computer from going into standby/hibernate. Regular burned files (not packet writing) do not affect the system. It is especially problematic for laptops, since they are run on batteries.

Is this happening only on my computer? Thanks for your help in advance.

It is not prudent to leave any packet writing disc in a burner for any length of time. Unwritten data and formatting (waiting for the eject command) can cause the disc to go unreadable with any power interruption.

I have not tried this, but you might try Full Format to see if it makes any difference. If not, eject the disc to force the write to finish.
