new user- copying dvd's to movie maker

Hey Folks- I am a rookie here and need some help- I am trying to copy football dvd's to my computer to make a highlight tape in moviemaker- I have inserted the dvd's several times, clicked copy - told it to send them to my video file- I cannot find them- where are they going and what am I doing wrong? How do I copy dvd's to my hard drive to use in another program?

If they are commercial DVDs they are probably copy protected - in which case you can't copy them, sorry

Windows will not (normally) even allow a Commercial DVD to be copied…

 

Try a search on your C:\ drive for VIDEO_TS.

 

Failing that, try VOB.
