"End of File -10003" Help needed

Jay J.

Question

I am trying to produce a Blu Ray image from DVDit Pro HD. The dvd is completely authored using 1 two hour movie (original work) which was exported from Premiere CS4 1440X1080 High quality, max render, 20Mbps mpeg. I have tried this project several times using both the stream I described and as an elementary stream of the same movie. DVDit Pro HD hangs on the "adding movie my_movie Vetl (sp?)" screen for a while the an error pops up that says "end of file -10003". Called Roxio. They said it was a new problem that they had never heard of before. Basically, they were NO help.

I also ran the same file through Canopus Procoder to produce an elementary DVD stream NTSC 720X480. Great quality!! I imported the m2v and the wav into DVDit Pro HD and successfully authored the DVD version of this movie.

No mater what I do I get the "end of file -10003" when trying to burn an authored Blu ray version of this project.

Help!

closed Gop is not a must, you can use open Gop

with your settings, all should be well

All is not well.

I cannot burn a blu ray that will play in my Sony BDP-S350. I have spent all day trying. Same files used in Encore and blu ray disc plays in the Sony. It's just that Encore is so much more trouble to use. DVDit has an easier work flow.

What am I doing wrong?!

Jay

what profile did you use when encoding the elementary streams 1440x1080

HD must use the mp@hl profile and max Gop size is 15 for Pal and 18 for NTSC

I exported the elementary streams from PPro again and was able to see the process to completion ONCE. I tested it with 1 menu and no chapters. After re-authoring the whole thing again with 4 menus and 22 chapters, I got erro message after error message. They were all differnt. I gave up and decided something in my authoring was bad. Started a new test project 12 min vid and successfully burned it to a blu ray disc that will play in my computer but NOT in my Sony BDP-S350 even after the latest firmware update done today.

This is nuts!

Just tell me how you guys are getting HD video on a disc that will play in the BR player.

I am starting with original footage shot with an XH-A1, captured with HDVsplit, editted with PPro CS4, and exported as elementary streams 1440X1080 MPEG-Blu Ray preset, high quality 29.97, max render, CBR@ 20000, GOP 3 & 12.

DVD authoring is a breeze and actually the video is extremely sharp but I want to be able to deliver blu ray as well.

Input appreciated.

Thanks.

all my BD-R play in all players I tested in a shop except one Samsung which is clearly labeled that it does not support BD-r or BD-RW

I make elementary stream consisting of m2v at 25000 CBR and ac3 at 384

I use closed Gop with 15 per Gop in Pal and 18 per Gop in NTSC, also make sure profile level is MP@HL and not MP@ML

remember that you can't have more than 18 menu buttons per menu, make more menus if you need more than 18 buttons

4 menu buttons

Profile is high

AC3 @ 384

CBR @ 25000

M frames @ 3

N frames @ 18 (NTSC)

Closed GOP is not an option for exporting .m2v elementary stream with the MPEG2 Blu-Ray preset. It is only an option for exporting a .mpg which is not an elementary stream. Is GOP closed in the MPEG2 Blu-Ray preset?

Appreciate the input.
