Audio problems when importing video clips

terrimcdaniels

Question

I have Easy Media Creator 10 running on Windows 7 and have had trouble with the audio on video clips from my daughter's Kodak ZX1. I read on other posts that a way to "fix" this was to extract the audio and put it on the music or sound track. It appears that Roxio just doesn't recognize the audio as when I try to extract the audio to add separately, it can't do it. I've read that this camera is mono. Is that the problem? I have tried a different program to extract the audio and was successful but would prefer to use Roxio if possible.

I also have no problems with the video clips that I get from my camera - a Panasonic.

Thanks for your help!

Even if you were using EMC10 on an XP or Creator 2010 on a W7, you would still not get the audio from that camcorder using the Roxio program. There were quaite a few tests done and none of them worked. I also have tried using that camcorder and was unable to get audio using just the Roxio program.

You will have to use that other program or when you do update Roxio, update to Creator 2010 PRO. That version has the SoundSoap add on. That works well but is really too expensive to use if you have to buy it as a stand alone.

I hate to upgrade just for that as I like this version. Any other reason to upgrade? Does it have alot more features than EMC10?

I guess several of us are confused because only one other person has claimed that they have any version other than Creator 2010 running on W7. That person has never come back and given us her secret!

If your going to run Roxio software on a Windows 7 pc, you don't have a choice....

cd

I haven't found any problems other than the audio. In fact, it runs better than it did on Vista. I had trouble with it freezing up when I would try to do pan and zooms manually. I have no problem with my own camera - only my daughter's. So maybe I'll just extract with the other program and continue as I am. Thanks for your help! Perhaps I'll have to upgrade if I find more issues.

I do have EMC 10 - just not the pro version.

EMC 10 is three versions old (there was no EMC10 Pro version), then Creator 2009 and Creator 2010, current version...

Others have had older versions installed on W-7 but they seem to break, maybe your a luck one!

cd

I hope so! Thanks for the timeline and if I do have to upgrade, I'll know I'm getting the right thing. I'm sure matching the audio and video may be a challenge at times but guess it will be worth it to preserve my grandchildren's words! :D There are times the audio is priceless! Thanks again!
