martin.j.barber Posted January 11, 2006 Report Share Posted January 11, 2006 I have successfully installed my copy of ECDC5 Platinum on my new Windows XP computer using the downloadable updates, only to discover afterwards that this software is not supported with XP Service Pack 2. What malfunctions can I expect to experience? My Norton Antivirus keeps producing a pop-up telling me that there is one item affecting my status. If you successfully installed ECDC 5 per the directions in the post attatched at the top about ECDSC 5 vs WinXP, that is not the problem. As to Norton AV, I made the mistake Saturday of replacing Norton AV 2002 software with Norton AV 2005 bloatware on my Win98 SE; within 20 hours I was looking for a replacement AV program; within 40 hours I had paid for said program and am waiting for it to arrive (eTrust EZ Antivirus). I have two downloads from Norton that won't install - the one that never has (for protecting email, and it is hamstrung by the lack of an email program on the computer - all my accounts are out in cyberspace), and a new one that I'm not sure what is supposed to do.
