Easy Audio CD Stops when adding m4a files

I am running Windows 7. I have iTunes/Quicktime and Windows Media Player installed. When I use "Easy Audio CD", then click "Add Music", if I choose an m4a file and click "Add", the program stops working. Does not happen when I use an mp3 file. I have tried several different m4a tracks, and the program stops working every time. No specific error message, just "The program has stopped working". I have already tried uninstalling and the reinstalling the program. Same problem!

I suspect the problem may be in your files themselves…

 

I converted 3 of the Windows Sample music files to m4a files.

 

Then added them to Easy Audio CD:

As you can see there was no problems…

I suggest you try a source of known quality.

 

You can also start the Add/Remove process for Roxio and choose Repair! post-39730-1268140215.jpg

Did you download those tracks from iTunes?If so then there's a good chance that they are protected and can't be used by Roxio.

Most tracks off of iTunes are in a protected format except for the newer ones you can download with no DRM.

Did you happen to try an iTunes m4a file?

I don't have any iTunes files…

 

Even if there is a copyright issue, the program would not crash.

 

But you have to try one from another source. Or if you can provide a link so that one of us can try the file.

Is anyone working on the m4a problem???

 

Were just fellow users on here....not Roxio... so were not working on anything....if another fellow user has a answer to your problem, and they read this post, they will respond.... be patient.

I asked for an error message and you posted some meaningless (to me) longwinded report???

 

No idea what version of software you have or even which program you are using within the Suite?

 

If other files are working, I would suggest the easy way out is to convert the m4a files into mp3 or something that does work.

 

There are many converters out there. But this is $30 program (I paid $15) and they are not going to 'fix' anything, since it consists of older programs that were known to work.
