2010 Pro- mydvd/videowave crashing on BR encoding

d rick

hi, I'm continuing to have all kinds of crashing issues with Roxio 2010 Pro (SP2) on my system.

system specs as follows:

Dell XPS 410

Q6600 quad core CPU @ 2.40 Ghz

2 x 32 GB SSD HDD's striped in a RAID 0

Win 7 Ult x64

Windows is patched current, and ATI drivers are also up to date

here are some details on what I'm trying to accomplish, and what is causing the crashes:

here is an example of the crash log from Windows system log:

Faulting application name: VideoWave12.exe, version:, time stamp: 0x4ac19e5e

Faulting module name: DSFormatter.dll, version:, time stamp: 0x4aaf6b47

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x0002c729

Faulting process id: 0x1588

Faulting application start time: 0x01cac070abaf3b42

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio 2010\VideoUI 12\VideoWave12.exe

Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio 2010\VideoUI 12\DSFormatter.dll

Report Id: 21c75bd8-2ca4-11df-ad8e-005056c00008

Let me know what other details are needed to troubleshoot, and TIA for any / all assistance.

oh yeah, if the problem is the GPU, then here are my other options:

one point of clarification, this only seems to happen when I'm trying to burn using AVC codecs, not when I'm using the MPEG2 codecs for the output.

the encode speed slows down about %90 and the program crashes when using AVC.
