Network printing

Hey, gang.... I'm beating my head up against the wall with this one. I have a WinXP desktop and laptop. The printer is on the desktop and both machines connected with Linksys router. I have checked:

1: file / print sharing is turned on the desktop where the printer is connected

2: The laptop can navigate 'Network Neighborhood' and the desktop shows up, but when I try to view the shared resources, I get an error saying the laptop doesn't have permission.

3: I've checked / doubled checked all network settings like group name, etc.

4: printer is being shared properly and shows as being shared on that machine.

5: checked Windows firewall even

 

Any suggestions? What am I over looking?
