R6025

DH1974

Question

Hi,

Hoping you can help me with an issue.

Yesterday, I just bought Easy VHS to DVD.

It is Windows 7 compatible.

I have windows 7, 64 bit, but it did install in the correct program folder.

Install and service pack update/install went perfect.

Problem:

When all is plugged in and I try to capture video from VCR I get error:

R6025 pure virtual functionalI did install as administrator.

Windows is allowing it through. I followed service directions, but box was already checked, fine.

Followed other directions. Still not working.

Computer came with a capture card on video, but when I installed Windows 7 I lost this. No issue, I just hope no part of my video card is somehow blocking this or casuing issue.

I really am excited about this $60.00 program and hate to take it back to Best Buy so any help is awesome.

Thanks in advance.

Dave Harrington

Hi Dave -

How old is your computer and what are its specifications? One thing you may want to try is to make sure that you have the proper driver for your video card and that *it* is Win 7 compatible. My first guess is that the generic drivers that Win7 installed for that card may not be enough (read "optimized") and that you may need the manufacturer's Win7 drivers for the card to work well.

To find out the video card manufacturer and model number:

  1. Go to Start --> Control Panel --> System and Maintenance --> Device Manager.
  2. Click on the Hardware tab.
  3. Select Device Manager
  4. Double-click Display Adapters. You're video card make and model is displayed.
  5. To find out the driver details (such as version), right click on the make and model under Display adapter, and select Properties.

Well finally getting a chance to get back to this issue.

I did some research and it seems my driver is up to date.

I did get an email back from Roxio customer service to check that there was no issue with services which there is not.

I also tried to reinstall and still have same issue.

I have since been told by a couple of people that this external type of capture card is really not so great to use.

I can use the hardware that came with the Easy VHS to DVD software and using Nero capture can see video, but no sound and video does not come through correct (choppy, frame then another frame, almost like a bunch of photos together not video).

My video card on my HP PC is NVIDIA GeoForce 7300 LE, if that is important.

Not sure how to resolve at this point.
