bun dvd as folder set

kramernator

Question

The options for burning DVDs are, burn to disk, burn as iso and burn as folder set. So i assume the folder set is like the VTS_01 type files and such like you find when you explore a regular old DVD movie. My question is whats the point? is there somehow you can burn that to a dvd so you don't need to use .isos??

I like first burning to a folder set as I can easily click on the video files (DVD, AVCHD, or Blu-ray) and check them out before copying them to a disc.

You can watch ISO images before burning them to a disc also.

There are at least two advantages to burning to a Folder Set or iso:

1) if you want to burn more then one DVD, you don't have to re-encode the whole project.

2) if your project is longer then 60 minutes and you want to burn at best quality (HQ), you can burn to an iso file and then use Burn Image Data to burn the iso file to a DVD. This will transcode the iso file to fit on the DVD and the quality will be better then any of the other quality options

Use Video Copy&Convert to burn iso files or folder sets to a DVD.

And 'Plan B' is to use Burn Data Disc… (Here)

Just add the folders and click Burn – it will see the VIDEO_TS folder and automatically adjust settings to produce a compliant DVD Movie.

(note will not work with AVCHD or BD)
