From Fast to Slow

Hi,

 

I have the latest version of Toast, and I am trying to encode MKV files to DVD. I am on a new MBP and I did this 5 times before (all are the same types of files) and each time it went very quickly. All of a sudden I go to encode another one and it is extremely slow, even on ones I have done before. I tried deleting the preferences files, uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooting, but nothing has fixed this. It went from taking maybe 1-2 hours to taking 6-10 or more hours.

 

Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have a solution?

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have no experience with that format so I don't know what to suggest. Your situation seems very odd. The only things I can suggest is trashing the Toast plist and prefs files which you've already done, running Disk Warrior and trying again. What are the specs on those videos as far as resolution and frame rate?
