CDM
I have burned a large number of Word, Excel, PPT and Adobe files onto CD using Creator Classic. When I view the CD in Explorer I can see all the files and properties as I would expect (right file size, date, extension etc) but when I try to open the files I get various errors: Word files: "Word cannor start the converter mswrd632". If I click OK then I just get rows of square boxes. Excel files: "The file is not in a recognisable format" PPT: "PowerPoint cannot opern the type of file represented" Adobe: Adobe reader could not open file because it was either not a supported file type or has been damaged" Is there anything I can do? I am feeling pretty desperate - any help gratefully received.

What I am wondering, is if you burned the project file rather than the project - saviing the grocery list and tossing out the groceries. CDM
I wondered that myself. There is 108 MB on the disk - surely more than a few groceries in there?

Are you seeing the 108MB in a file you have opened up on the disc, or by using Windows Explorer? (click on MyComputer, then click on the drive the disc is in - it shd show you the amount of data on the disc) Lynn

In Explorer, the properties of the folder I had saved all the files to states size = 108MB. However the properties of the disk itself states used space = 512KB. Pants. I hope you checked the disc in a different computer before you deleted the files from the original computer ... (If you check the files from the original computer, the links in the layout will still open the files on the orignal computer. In fact, if the files are still there, the still will.) You will have to buy the program to do any actual recovery.
