Burning PAL DVDs

HHT

Question

I've got a number of home-made videos that I need to send to my daughter in London in PAL format. She needs them as part of her research for her MsC degree. I've used Digital Media Converter software to convert an NTSC mpeg-2 file to a PAL version of the .VOB file. Can someone tell me what to do next to have a PAL DVD that will play in the UK? Is there some way to test the DVD (e.g. look at its specs) to ensure that it is a PAL version and was not re-converted back to NTSC when the DVD was burned (seems like this may have happened with my first attempt). If I can get help quickly, I can avoid paying a lot of money to some company to do this. Thanks in advance for your help!

Are you sure you need PAL. My understanding is that most DVD players in the UK will play both PAL and NTSC. In the US, the DVD players will only play NTSC; a PAL DVD will be jerky, color issue, and no watchable.
