Can't Add Videos for Editing

When I try to add a video In VideoWave to edit I get the following error message: "One or more of the files you are trying to add cannot be edited, and have not been added". The videos I'm trying to edit were taken with a Sony DVD camcorder and are .mpg format. They also won't load into Video Copy and Convert. Any ideas why I get this error message - do I have to convert them to another format?

Did you set the camcorder so that you could edit the video on the disc in the camera? Have you copied the files from the disc to your computer using Windows? I don't thnk you can just load them from the disc into Video Wave. If they are true mpg2 videos, then they should load. Do you have any other mpg2 videos that you can try? Perhaps find one on the net and download it and try again.

 

Just to make sure, do you have Creator 2010 or Easy Media Creator 10. What computer are you trying to use?

 

Hey Digital Guru, thanks for the reply - I was able to convert the mpg files to .wav and .avi and edit them in VideoWave. I probably didn't set the camcorder to the edit setting on the disc when I uploaded them to my computer. I do have Creator 2010 and using a Dell Studio 8100 XPS as my old computer kept locking up.

You do not want to set the camcorder to be able to edit the files on the disc.
