Roxio Photo Show script error

smokeybuckle

Question

This is my first time in the chat room. I recently purchased Roxio Creator 2010. I am trying to create a photo show but am having troubles in editing.

Pictures take forever to move. This is the message I keep getting: A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If this continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort this script? I don't know what this means or how to answer. Could anyone help me out?

Sorry, you have to be more specific on which application you are using. PhotoShow is a specific one that makes slide shows for the web.

If you go to the Photo Tab, are you selecting "Make PhotoShow" or "Create Slide Show" Under the 'video/Movies" tab, you can make slide shows using the "Edit Video- Advanced". That really is the preferred method to make slide shows.

It sound like you are using "Make PhotoShow" is that correct?

Please let us know what you have for a computer and what operating system? The first thing I would suggest to to do as much of this that is applicable and then do a repair of the program using Windows Add/Remove programs. Make sure that your anti-virus is OFF. Also make sure that you reinstall Flash player.

It would also help if you let us know how much computer experience you have in case more is necessary.

I am not that computer savvy but have worked with photo shows a fair amount. I just purchased Roxio Creator 2010 and haven't used it before.

I am using Create a Photo Show. I went into New Photo Show and it asked me to select a folder. I had already put a folder of pictures together in the order that I wanted them. But when I selected the folder it brought all the pictures over in a totally mixed up order. Under Music and Photos I have been trying to change the order of the pictures and it is responding really slow and that is when I get the script error.

As far as my system goes this is what I got from my properties under my computer:

Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002

Service Pack 3

AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 4200+

2.21 GHz 960 MB of Ram

I haven't tried what you suggested yet I am waiting for some help. As I said earlier I am not that computer savvy. I am usually good at using a program but not familar with the system and hardware issues. Can you tell from the information I have provided if this program should work with my computer? Is Adobe Flash Player 10 the right one to be using? Thanks for your assistance I really appreciate it.

What program from C2010 are you using to create your "photoShow"?

What kind of pictures are you using? Where did they come from? What format extension do they have?

I am using Create a Photo Show.

Not sure what you mean by what kind of pictures.

The pictures were taken with my camera and I downloaded to my computer.

Not sure what you mean by format extention.

Maybe this is all way beyond my knowledge.

I haven't had a problem before using slide show programs.

I used to use Nero Photoshow Deluxe and had no problems.

Is there something you would suggest?

This is a great time to learn something new (and better) :D if you don't plan on loading the Slide Shows to the PhotoShow web site.

First make sure you have installed or Creator 2010 came with SP2. Go to the top of this page, select Support and then the second tab down.

Edit Video-Advanced, aka Video Wave is a full feature slide show making application. Take a look at these videos made by karri. They will get you started. You'll notice that they are for an earlier version but the basic editing is all the same.

This is what you should use. Once you complete the project in Video Wave, you would save it and then go to Create DVD to burn it to a disc.

Yes PhotoShow will bring in the images in random order known only to the designers ! :P Since that is a simple OEM type program, unless you get the Premium membership, you are limited to 24 images for uploading and no video; you may get more but that may be part of your problem.

Update the drivers for your video card/chip from the computer/card manufacturer. Update DirectX 9c. Here are some other things you can do.
