# 7 in my signature, run the PX Engine 4.18.16a.

Download it to a new folder you make on your hard drive, unzip it with WinZip/WinRAR, run it, and reboot...

cd

Followed #7 and it still doesn't detect my drive. Funny how i can put a DVD in a create and Image off it and right in the middle it says "Optiarc" DVD but it doesn't recognize it when trying to burn that image...

Maybe get a new device driver for the Burner? Or was #7 in your sig supposed to take care of the driver for the Burner? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Running XP Pro SP3 on a Compaq 6510b. Its a work issued Laptop. I've searched on the drive and its an Optiarc DDU820A. Seems its bit of a step-child drive that if you Google it it only comes back with a few results. Definitely not a well known or sold DVD burner. Also tried HP's web site and they have absolutely nothing regarding this drive, even though its all HP stickers on the bottom with their part and serial numbers etc etc.

Thanks for the help cdanteek!

Try this one # 7 in my signature, 'Drive Not Recognized By Roxio, PX Engine 3_00_58a'

Download it to a folder you make on your hard drive, unzip it with WinZip/WinRAR, run it and reboot...

Try that Drive ID again in Device Manager...

I've run 3-00-58a as well as the 4.x update in your sig...

I'm waiting on something i just found out from my Desktop Services group at work... Apparently you have to be added to a Global group here at my work in order to Burn DVD's or even copy files over USB. I work at a Health Care company so the security and lockdowns that happen on our laptops is pretty brutal. They don't want anyone walking away with People's personal data. I even had to fill out a hardware exception form that needed to be approved by 5 different groups with a business justification before they even installed the burner or the Roxio software...

Might be onto something here "cd" that will get it to work. Thanks for all your help!

I just updated Creator 2010. Now I can't burn anything. I keep getting the messqage that there is "NO DRIVE DETECTED". How can I get it to recognize my two dvd drives? it used to work, until i ran the update. Now I'm stuck. Any ideas?
