Capture Problems

Eyball

Question

I have to say this software causes you to create way to many coasters. I have the Windows version and um running it under Windows XP on my Imac. I tried to get the Mac software but they said I have to purchase the entire product again. Anyway, I copied one VHS tape and it was fine but now I am getting "unkown capture error" and its dumping me out. I also tried capturing rather than the copy feature and that causes choppy video. I also treid to capture in Windows Movie make and that was choppy also. I would love to try this in Mac OSX but I am not spending any more money on this crappy software just to burn a few home videos to DVD.

If you are having the same "choppy video" while capturing with WMM then I would say it's your system that is "crappy" and not the software. You also say that you captured one VHS tape fine and now it doesn't work. So what changed in your system?

Nothing changed that's what makes no sense at all. When I use the direct to DVD option now I get the "unkown capture error". So I am trying to just capture my VHS to the computer any way I can. I am running an iMac with a Core 2 Duo Running @ 2.66Ghz with 4GB of RAM and an Nvida GeForce 9400. I think the problem lies in my USB port. I would like to just find the MAC drivers for this hardware and try it in OSX but Roxio said I have to buy the entire product again which is crap! I should have just purchased a real capture device in the first place.
