tlfmd
I rarely use roxio on my Dell XPS 720 system. I had one of my other, older data HD.s fail, resulted in a complete reinstall of OS etc (XP pro, Media Center Eduition 2005) with, then all the SP updates, then all the other Dell programs I had.. All went well on a new WD HD ... almost. On every restart, I get error that roxiowatchtray9.exe has experienced a buffer underrun and cannot start, etc.etc.etc. !)I'm not using it then there's no disc in drive 2)The machine is essentially factory, except for the new HD About two months ago (month or so after reinstall) this began. I have disabled it from startup. What is causing this and how do I fix?
gi7omy
a couple of things coe to mind First, if you installed Internet Explorer higher than version 6 and/or media player higher than version 9, those do cause problems with the older suites Secondly, a buffer under-run is caused by the computer not shifting data fast enough from hard disk to optical disc. Causes - could be anything really down to something as simple as a heavily fragmented file or even an incorrect DMA setting on the drives
