leslie dubberly
Do you have "Media Manager" monitoring your folders? That is a resource hog and will slow down computer that have a lot of image, video and music files. You can turn it off several ways but the easiest is to open Media Manager and go to tools and select stop monitoring files. You could also set it to monitor only certain folders. media manager... Tools... Start Monitoring Folders is not activated... would have to say no... however, when i open Roxio Media Manager there are 8,749 Items Total... some of the pictures are from DVD projects that i have written and moved in total to an external hard drive... when i highlight the pictures and "Remove"... then i check "Permanetly delete the selected media files(s) from your computer and Yes... they go away and the number of Items Total is reduced... Is Media Manager monitoring my folders?... Is there another location where i need to stop this action?... Except for my current project why would I have a need for "Monitoring My Folders"

It could mean that you have deleted those selected media files also from your external drive. Is that really what you wanted to do?

But it may have run the first time that you started the program. Look in Windows, start, run, type in msconfig and uncheck those items that don't eed to be running at start up, like Roxio Burn, cpmonitor, Quicktime, etc. That should cut down on what is running at any particular time. Make the changes, reboot, and acknowledge that you make the changes and tell it to not tell you again (unitl the next change). If you have any probelsm go backand recheck the ones you want to run at start up and repeat the process. A lot of software thinks that it should be running all the time; we are smaerter than that. leslie dubberly
What software do you have? What program i slow to load? Define slow? A few more details would really be helpful. Roxio Creator 2010 PRO... Roxio VideoWave i(19 mins. of *.jpeg and *.avi along with *.wav soundtrack, transitions and some text) takes 5-8 mins to load and the save time is 15-20 mins. 1st "slide" photo/video comes up immediately but the remain thumbnails maybe 2 mins. later but before you can edit, play, etc it is at least 5-8 mins. Edited to get the reply out of the quote.
