can roxio download off the internet?

Question

Hi,

I am very new to roxio 2009 and I have a few question. The manual is not very clear and detail enough.

1_ can you record a video while watching it on the internet as divx avi or to avi (what is the best output format?) or into a format where you can just plug in a usb and play it off a dvd player.

2_ if yes how do you record while watching the video or the easiest to download it. I am referring to all site that has video for watching.

3_ how about mp3? can Roxio 2009 record internet radio or radio program as you are listening to a radio program from any county's radio station?

if yes please show me how to do it for both 2_ and 3_ above

Thank you.

Hello,

I don't know about other video viewing sites, but I've just had the YouTube 'Terms of Use' pointed out to me and almost fell off my chair.

http://www.youtube.com/t/terms

Section 5B is the killer - it prohibits you from copying, storing, or permanently downloading any of their videos, so even if Creator 2009 can be used to download and store them, you might not want to be caught doing it.

Regards,

Brendon

No, you can't record DivX video and record it at the same time. Just download the DivX video (cannot be done with Roxio), burn it to a DVD or copy to a USB stick and then play it on your DVD player .... as long as your DVD player is able to play DivX and has a USB port.
