Video Wind Noise reduction

rayjack

Question

Good Morning!

I am completely new to video editing. I recorded a short video of my daughter's beach wedding in Australia on my Nikon D5000 Digital SLR still camera, and of course got the inevitable wind noise from the built-in mike. I am trying to lessen this in Roxio 2010 without much success. Can anyone help me on this? I have imported the video clip but cannot find a sound editor function in Video.

In Video Wave, click on show/hide tracks and select "native audio". Close that and then double click on the native audio track. An audio editor will show up. You can try that but it is not a full service audio editor.

Do you have the PRO version? Bias Sound Soap will do a better job.

If you don't have the PRO.

You can go to Media Manager and extract the audio from that video by right clicking on it. You can then try Sound Editor to do more. If that doesn't do it, then download and run GoldWave on the audio. There is a free trial so you can see how much it helps. Once the audio is cleaned, you can mute the native audio and add the cleaned audio to any of the other audio tracks. You must do the cleaning before you do any editing. There are other audio editing programs that might help but none will get rid of all the wind noise. Actually if GoldWave doen't do it, you would have to get into the professional programs.
