Hi! 6th Apr 2010

I have a LG HL DT ST DVDRAM DVD drive on a laptop running Vista Business.

Will EMC 9 support it?

Vista Business does not by default give DVD Decoders.

You might be surprised by how many LG burners meet that definition. What is the full identification? Some even come with a built in burning application- "Bluebirds".

The Roxio programs simply tries to communicate with the drive. The drivers and the firmware have to come from the manufacturer of the drive. Go to LG to get the latest.

Why are you asking about DVD decoders? What are you trying to do with the burner?

Hi! Thanks

I think I left out a T50N at the end.

Vista Business does not play DVDs: says dvd decoders are not installed. I was wondering if EMC9 or other will play dvds. EMC9 OEM does not

I am wondering what to buy, or say with VLC

The T50N is the firmware version for your drive.

The best drivers for any optical drive are Microsoft default Operating System Drivers..

Not to be confused with firmware for your drive, that comes from the manufacture...

You have to buy Software or the decoder to view DVD's or use the free VLC Player..
