I have finished capturing my home videos from VHS to my computer in mpg files using Roxio media import.
I have captions that I made with a subtitle program and saved them to an .srt file.
(A text file that contains entries like this:
1
00:00:11,120 --> 00:00:13,120
Mike: Nice turn. Good.
2
00:00:13,840 --> 00:00:15,840
Stop. PUT ON THE BRAKES!
3
00:00:53,520 --> 00:00:55,520
Now she's turned around. She went down.
4
00:00:55,530 --> 00:00:57,030
Marjie: Uh-oh.
5
00:00:57,030 --> 00:00:59,030
Jenny: I'll go.)
I want to add the subtitle file (and thus the subtitles) to the mpg files to be able to view my home movies with captions. I understand hardcoding them will make the subtitles always on - that's fine. I don't want to use a media player where I have to specify the srt file (VideoLan and MediaPlayerClassic-HomeCinema will not automatically play the subtitles over a video made with Roxio codecs, even with autoload on, though they will play correctly if I load the video file and then manually load the subtitle file.) I don't want to make a text overlay for each subtitle and find the correct frames to add them onto.
I don't need to burn the files to dvd at this time unless that is the only way to add the subtitles.
I have Roxio Creator 2010 Special Edition. How do I do this? Is there any way to add subtitles from an external file in VideoWave?
