Converting cd music to .iso files

Daffydox

Question

I just bought Creator 2010 and I want to backup all of my music cd's (400 originals) to .iso files. It's not working and I don't have the choice to use the .gi file format instead.

And for some of those .gi files (5 on 64 so far) are not working at all, they don't even load on the virtual drive and are not usable.

Is someone having an idea ?

In Music disc creator you can save to a .c2d image file. That can be loaded in Roxio virtual drive.

So just import your audio CD into Music disc creator, edit tags set project settings etc. to taste, then burn. The .c2d option is available in the drop down box of the save as dialog box.

Why are you bothering with iso or gi files if you want to backup your CDs?

I haven't looked lately, but Roxio used to offer their .CIF image file, which worked for Music CDs, and might work in their Disc Image Loader, but again, something I haven't tried.

Maybe if you told us your goal, we could offer some other alternatives. What is your aim/reason for desiring .ISO files? I could guess that maybe you want to preserve the original fidelity of the CDs, rather than opting for .MP3 files? If so, why not rip the tracks as .WAV files, which will maintain the original fidelity, and offer flexibility in playback options.

So, give us a little background and maybe we'll have some other thoughts.
