How to apply audio/title changes to all menus

fnu lnu

Question

Just started using Creator 2010. I'm creating DVD's of short home movie clips; the current one has 43 clips, which by default Creator arranges into 11 menu pages. I want to remove the default audio from all of them, but the only way I can figure out to do this is to go to each menu and choose Remove Audio from the pull down menu. Isn't there a master template menu, or some way to do this for all menus?

Similarly, I wanted to remove the menu title ("Your title here") from all menus, but had to go through and remove them one by one. How to do this for all at once?

Finally, I'd like to be able to have more than 3 items on each menu page, so as not to have to have so many different menus for a given DVD. I tried to cut and paste, but it only screwed things up. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Create myDVD project with a main menu page and at least one chapter menu page. Then using Remove Menu Audio from the drop down Menu options remove the audio from the main menu page as well as from the chapter menu page. Go back to the main menu page and delete the Title on the menu page (this will also delete the chapters). Then save the menu as a new Menu Style (under File on the menu menu bar). The next time you use your custom menu with Titles and Chapters, there should be no audio for the menu pages. Removing the menu titles should also work the same way, although I have not tried it.

BTW, having a DVD with 43 titles is not very user friendly. Who is going to click through 6 or 7 menu pages to get to Title 40? Can't you combine some of the clips under a single title so that you don't have more then 5 or 6 Titles in total. If you want then you could have chapters for a title.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I'm trying to follow yours, myguggi, and am not getting something. I created a new DVD project. I didn't see anything (in menus or Help) about adding chapters except by first adding a movie and then marking chapters, so I used the Add Submenu option. I then removed the audio from both the menu and submenu. (Actually if I remove the audio from the main menu first, it removes it also from the submenu, maybe my first clue I was on the wrong track.) But then when I deleted the Title from the main menu (you just mean highlight and remove the text, right?), it does not have the effect of removing the submenu. Help?

Sorry to be a newb. Thanks again for your help. (Also, thanks for the suggestion to combine clips and make chapters; I'll try that once I get past this.)

There are some menu styles that support more than 3 menu items per page. Just search on them ("Change Menu Styles") and use one. Then you can edit the menu background if you want to personalize it.
