Encoding Video

Rodders47

Question

I am using Roxio 10 Pro version.

My computer is a HP, quad core 2.88gb chip, 1 gb video card, 4 gb ram with 612gb free hard drive space.

The video's and the music are my own creation, hense no copyright etc.

I have created the video's in Video Wave then sent them to MYDVD, created a menu with buttons to select the 2 video's I have created, validated the menu, and have previewed the menu and played back both the video's, all work fine including the attached Music.

I originally burnt these video's to DVD with no problems but that was just a test case as at the time I did not have any Audio on them. I did not however burn it to ISO!!

Now when I try to burn either to disk or .ISO the prog. starts ok but during the encoding there is an occassional "MPEG flash" which looks like a laid down disc with lines around it with mpeg on it. This continues until 9% is encoded and then it just HANGS with this MPEG screen, no messages nothing just stops working? I click "Cancel" and the programme goes back to MYDVD showing my Menu Screen.

I have tried burning the same video's MINUS the AUDIO but still the same??

Any Ideas?

Rod

Hi Guys,

Well after re-editing my video files ( MPEG4) in Video Wave and saving and testing along the way ( I burnt a DVD just to prove that they work) then I converted my AUDIO files from .mp3 to .WAV and added those WAV files to my DMSM videowave creation and hey presto I have a nice burnt DVD !!!!

It has taken me maybe 6 hours but in the end worth it. :-)

Many thanks for the help

Just a pointer here ::- MAYBE there should be some notation on the HELP files that AUDIO only works in .WAV !!!!

I'm glad it is working form you. :D

The issue is that there are so many flavors of mp3 that not all flavors work; many do however. The wav is a work around for those that do have the issue with audio file types. It also works if you have a video type that shows up as silent. You can extract the audio from the video and convert it to wav and then put it back in.

If you hit Cancel and it returns to the program it appears that it was working… If it 'hangs', you need Task Manager to close it out.

You mentioned adding Audio. Where, to What?

Does it work (to ISO) if you remove this Audio?

What kind of Project (VCD, DVD, AVCHD, BD)?

What kind of source files?

How long?

.. what kind of audio? I suspect music and if the audio is music, it should be in the form as wav format and must not have DRM - Copy protection. That rules out any music you go from an on-line store such as iTunes. You can use the Smart Sound tracks or any music you ripped from a CD. Again, if you rip from a CD, it should be in the form of a wav file.

I have the Audio attached to ONE Video produced in VIDEO WAVE.

No it will not save to ISO even if I remove the AUDIO

The Audio is in MPEG2 but is my own compilation, not ripped from any source.

The File is being burnt to a DVD, size is aprox 2.8gb

The original source files were in .VOB prior to editing. This is exactly the same source files I used for the first TEST DVD that I burnt.

OK maybe I need to convert the sound to WAV and try again

Thanks will try.
