Creator 2010 won't run.

Rizzo

Question

Just installed Creator 2010 WITHOUT any errors on a system with XP SP3. When trying to start Creator 2010 from the desktop shortcut I get a brief appearance of a ROXIO name splash screen then nothing. Same occurs if I try to start it from the program folder -\Roxio Central 5\RoxioCentralFX.exe. The individual applications can be started from the star menu tho. Any Ideas/suggestions?

I have the same problem with newly installed downloaded version of 10 on XP - just the Roxio logo that vanishes quite quickly. Am going to try reinstalling Net Framework 3.5.

I did hope that someone with the reputation of Roxio would have taken the time to develop a bombproof install process.

Well, thanks to SonicBoom I now have a fully operating program. Even when all seemd installed the interface didn't run until I did 2 things. Reinstalled netframework 3.5 SP1. The way it downloaded may have been a problem. Weird download progress would go from 0 to 2 mb to 0 to 5 to 0 to 3 to 0 then jump to 25 mb and jump from 25 30 bqck to 25 and so on until it finally hit 48 mb and finally finished. May have caused a faulty download (my thoughts). then installed 2010 SP2 and problem solved. However thaks to SonicBoom for the advice and the time invested.

Well, I tried everything Roxio said to try. Tried clean install - removed everything from the mscongig startup, completely removed all Roxo entries including all entries in registry. Turned off antivirus and tried a new install. Still all I get is a splash screen with the name Roxio and no launch application. Redid the hard drive so that there was no chance of anything missed indicating Roxio in any way, unmarked everything in msconfig startup and turned off antivirus and tried a fresh install. Same results.

I'll need to look at your installation logs and also may have you run a application trace log.

Now this is getting really weird and frustrating.

The last few days, Creator 10 desktop shortcut launched the interface. Today it doesn't. Nor does it launch it from the start menu or from RoxioCentralFx.exe in explorer. NO new programs added or anything updated. No changes at all. I'd be pulling out my hair but don't have much left. However I'm running the modules from the individual start menu entries with no problem. Netframework 3.5 SP1 problem????
