How to get audio and video recorded at th same speed

David B124

Question

Is anyone experiencing this problem or is just me?

i was using easy cap before i bought roxio capturing and i experienced the same problem which i am experiencing now with roxio creator 2010 video capture.

my problem is: the video from vhs is not going the same as the audio, the sound seems to fine but the video is going a sometime slow/fast, not the way i expect it.

My question is is it possible to recording video from vhs to computer just as it would play on vhs to TV? if yes what are the tips tha i could use to solve such a problem? thanks

David, I moved your post here so you will get better results.

What operating system and what computer hardware do you have? Some of the old recommendations useful in XP are not useful now. I would have told you to turn down both your video and audio acceleration. Yes, I know that sounds backward. With Vista and W7, those options are not readily available.

Many times the solution is having a lot of free space on a defragmented hard drive. You might want to use some of the tools here-- I use Revo Uninstaller to get rid of software that I don't use, CCleaner to get rid of the junk and temp files and SmartDefrag to keep the disc from being fragmented. Auslogics Defragmenter is also good and fast.

Audio/video work is more computer intensive than most people realize. Simple things like shutting down all other programs including anti-malware AND anti-virus, setting Windows Start Menu to start only the programs you need to have running on boot, and saving to your system hard drive and not to an external drive all play a part.

I'm sure you'll get other recommendations and it will help if we get more of your computer information.
