JN Design
Hi, I have Roxio Video Capture USB; bundled with toast 10 Titanium. This installs the Empia Capture application. Using my MacBook Pro (10.6.3), I find I can only capture QT movies using Y'CbCr 4:2:2 - yuyv compression only. Using any of the other compressors (or none at all) records a file which is not recognised as a movie format. I would like to use H264 compression but cannot on this MacBook Pro. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
tsantee
The device captures in MPEG 2 format which is for video DVD. The MPEG-2 video can be played in QuickTime if you purchase Apple's QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component. Here are my suggestions for converting to h.264: 1. Use the full version of Toast 10 or Popcorn 4. Add the captured MPEG 2 video to the convert window and use Toast to convert to h.264 or 2. Get the MPEG-2 playback component I mentioned and MPEG Streamclip. Use MPEG Streamclip to convert to h.264 or 3. Import to iMovie and use iMovie's Export (Share menu) to save as h.264.
