Version 9 doesn't work with Win7

gerry_co

Question

After checking the Roxio website for compatibility with Win 7, I purchased a copy of Easy CD & DVD Burn yesterday only to find out Version 9 doesn't work with Win 7.

You get a error message for a driver error.

I emailed Roxio and got this response:

Thank you for contacting Roxio Customer Care

After reviewing your notes, I understand that you are having issues with the Roxio software that you purchased from Staples, that it is not compatible with Windows 7 and you would like to have an update/patch to make it compatible. Unfortunately, there's no update available to make the software compatible. We suggest having it replaced by the retail store with the one showing the Windows 7 logo since you were not informed that it's not compatible with the news system.

If you have any questions about the suggestions above or the issue is not resolved, please update this webticket with the steps you have tried and any additional information that may help

Sincerely,

Roxio Customer Care

In other words, unless you have Version 10 (same red box with the Win 7 logo) you're screwed.

Yes, I'm afraid so.

After checking the Roxio site and being told they have a Windows 7 compatible version [good move], you've gone somewhere else and bought a non-compatible version [bad move].

You should try for a refund at Staples and get the compatible version from Roxio. If you buy on-line from Roxio they'll refund without question within 30 days of purchase.
