Easy VHS to DVD has no audio when I go to capture

ramosrc10

Question

Installation was done on My e-machine (WIN 7) no problems until I went to capture. Only video, no audio! I uninstalled and tried again. Same thing happened. All the attachments are okay, there's audio and video to my TV. My composite hookups are correct from my VHS player. I'm on the Internet so any updates were installed from Roxio. Anyone else have this problem? Tech help from Roxio, if you really wany to help customers, please read these inputs and get back to us by whatever means. I just got the e-machine computer in Jan 2010, so I know it is not the computer!

The captured videos , also on playback have no audio at all. The mute toggle switch is set on capture audio. Please help! I do not want to have to return this product!

I've been having the same problem for a while now. (like 8-10 months). I successfully made 2 dvd's and then all of a sudden it quit giving me sound. It was only a couple of months old when it stopped working right. I have done everything suggested and still no sound. I even changed computers because my old one broke and still nothing. All I get is video no sound. I know that I did not spend $60+ for a program that is not reliable.

How are you hooked up from your VCR to the Usb device?

Verify that you have got the right options selected in your sound card( the settings in Vista and Win 7 are quite different than in XP). In post #5 is a picture of Vista.

As a test, take the same cord that you have plugged into the USB device and connect it to you TV or Video cam and see if you get sound.

You have to prove that the sound is getting to the USB device.

Some people are having problems with the sound level being too low coming out of the VCR .

I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE NO SOUND WHEN IM IN CAPTURE VIDEO. I SEE PICTURE AND CAN ADD THE WHOLE VHS BUT THERE IS NO SOUND ON PLAYBACK. EVEN IF I GO INTO WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER AND PLAY IT THERE IS NO SOUND

Assuming you have got the Audio cables (Red & White) hooked up correctly, go into your sound control settings for whatever O/S (Win 7/Vista/XP and make sure you have got them set right.

The pic is for Vista (you did not say what O/S you have).

I am quite frustrated. I have always had both sound and video. Now all of a sudden I have video only. I have tried everything. It seems this is a common issue with this software and I think if people pay what they do for it that Roxio should back the product and either replace it or tell us what the heck we need to do to correct the problem and I dont' think I should have to pay $1.89 per minute to call to speak with someone either.

When I purchased this product it was to put old family videos on DVD to save them but what good are they without sound?

Look at the box your Easy VHS to DVD came in. Does it say XP, Vista, and Windows 7 on it?

So, what have you done to your computer since it last worked properly?

From your other post:

"HI I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE THE RED,YELLOW,WHITE CABLES ALL TOGETHER CONNECTED FROM THE VCR TO MY LAPTOP I ENTERED A VHS AND PRESSED PLAY. I CAN SEE THE MOVIE AND IM ABLE TO UPLOAD TO MY LAPTOP BUT WHEN I PLAYBACK THERE IS NO SOUND.

ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO USE A SEPERATE RED, SEPERATE YELLO AND SEPERATE WHITE CABLES?"

It does not make any difference, as long as you have the colours correct Yellow to yellow, Red to red and White to white.

Why do you assume that the problem is the Roxio software. There have been many post's in this forum with similar problems, but can you point me to one were the trouble has been the actual Roxio Software/Hardware.
