Could not record disk because (ID=-39)

Question

I'm using iMac O.S.10.5.8 , TiVo Transfer for Popcorn and Popcorn 4.02 .

I have transfered 10 saved recordings from my HD TIVO using TiVo Transfer and then burned 4 of the transfered files from my hard drive to 2 DVD's successfully using Popcorn, that play on a TV using a DVD Player but not on the iMac . I would like for the burned DVD to play on both TV and on my iMac if possible. If not, what are the settings necessary for each ? On the attempt to burn the 3rd. video file from the hard drive onto a DVD I got this message after burning ended (30 min.) "Could not record disk because (ID=-39)" I repeated the process 2 times put got the same Message.

Questions:

1. What caused the (ID=-39) error?

2. Can I burn a DVD that will play on both a TV and on a Mac Computer?and

3. What are the necessary settings?

I have read all available instructions and these support boards.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bigmac77

The video DVDs created using Popcorn work on Macs and standalone players the same without any different settings required. You might try a different brand of media (such as Verbatim). That may fix both issues (or it may not). Try choosing Save as Disc Image and then burn your disc using the Image File setting.
