Cannot trim movies

Question

System details:

Manufacturer: Hewlett Packard.

Model: Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC

Processor: AMD Dual-Core QL-65 2.1GHz

Memory (RAM) 3.00GB

32-bit Operating System (Windows Vista Home Premium)

Is there anyone who can help? I have a copy of roxio easy video copy & convert which does not allow the trimming of movies. After inserting the mark-in and mark-out points, the instructions tell me to click the Apply Trim Point(s) button and this will trim the selected material from the clip. No material is actually removed and all that happens is the mark in and mark out points disappear. I do seem to have had slightly more success with the start point and end point markers but when I come to burn a DVD I get a pop-up that says, “Unspecified error [0x8000-4005] and the burning process stops ......................... except in my increasing torment where it is alive and well!

I would really appreciate a helping hand with this, if anyone can help. By the way, FYI I have installed this application, uninstalled it and reinstalled it.

Many thanks,

I've had a similar problem, and can't get past this point. I can successfully trim the movies, using Easy DVD Copy 4, but I get the same error message and the burning process stops. Is it the trimming of the movie that's the problem?

Hi,

Yes, trimming is the problem but it might be just the first hurdle in a long line. All I'm trying to do is take the commercials out of the movies I've recorded.
