It depends. Use good-quality media and you should be okay just leaving the setting at Best which is the fastest speed the drive and that particular piece of media will support. You can't tell what burn speeds are available until after a blank disc is inserted and recognized. If you are experiencing trouble with "Best" then choose a slower speed. If you are burning an audio CD then it is wise to always choose the slowest available burn speed.


Different brands of discs will be supported at different burn speeds on different drives.
