LP to MP3 Help

jawmbi

Question

As an example of my problem, the song Luckenbach Texas by Waylon Jennings has several very small pauses in the beginning. This causes muliple clips anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds or more. So the song in the beginning is broken up. I have made the adjustment in settings to not start a new song until after 10 seconds of silence but that doesn't help. The only way to get a full, accurate copy is to run the whole album as one song. What am I doing wrong? I'd rather have each individual song in it's interity recorded just as the album is

For options, make sure you do not have auto-pause selected in the general section; in track detection make sure you have selected "silence may contain noise". What happens if you select more than 10 seconds? How much of a pause do you have on the album between cuts?

If I was listening to Waylon and there were a long pause, I'd think the song was over and start applauding ! B)

Is it just the first song that is broken up? Use Sound Editor to add the song "sections" and merge just those clips.

Waylon just isn't Roxio friendly ! :P

I totally agree Waylon is not Roxio friendly but it is symptimate of the problem I'm havind with LP's. Lot's of 10-15 sec clips of music from certain songs. The only luck I'm having right now is with cassette tapes. They seem to load easily.

Waylon isn't a favorite, just one of my many LP's saved from years gone by. Sucks to get old.

Let me play around with your suggestions and I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks.

Personally I never use the auto detect option and prefer to record the whole side of an LP at a time, and split the tracks out manually so I get them like I want.
