Compress Audio Tracks

daisymac

Question

I have some audio tracks which I suspect originally fit on a single Audio CD, however when I try to burn an Audio CD from within iTunes it says it needs to be split across more than one CD. If I were to use Toast 10 to create the Audio CD, would it be able to compress the audio tracks and get them all on one Audio CD? These are only spoken word audio tracks.

I'm not certain what iTunes considers the maximum it will write to a CD. Toast will write to the entire disc so you get nearly 80 minutes on a CD. If you have multiple audio tracks you can set the gap to as little as 0 seconds to gain some space. There isn't any way to compress audio that will play on an audio CD player (unless you used some other application (Bias Peak maybe?) to speed up the audio and save it as a new smaller file).

If you buy Toast as a download from Roxio they have a 30-day refund policy.
