Mac2Tivo quit working after install of new disk

jsvette56

Question

Mac2Tivo does not transfer. The files show up in the Tivo ToDo list but never get transferred to the Tivo. I can transfer files from Tivo to the the mac OK, but the mac to tivo does not work. Everything worked ok until I had a new disk installed on my iMac and had to recover the system from a backup. I reinstalled Roxio Toast to the latest version. All the settings in My Tivo are correct and show up in the Tivo Settings as a,a,a. Any ideas?

I know the current version of Mac2TiVo doesn't work with the TiVo Premiere models. Is yours a different model? The Mac shows up in the TiVo menu but there are no contents shown. I've informed Roxio of the problem and am hopeful they are working on it. There is a freeware app called pyTivoX that does work. So until Mac2TiVo is fixed I suggest using this other application.

I have a 3 older versions of Tivo and they worked before my hard drive melted down and I had to restore everything from a backup. Transfer works ok from Tivo to the mac. And transfer works between the Tivo units as well, just not from Mac2Tivo.

Trash the com.roxio.Mac2Tivo.plist file in your User>Library>Preferences folder and relaunch Mac2TiVo. That may reset things so they work properly. You may also want to shut down the TiVo to see if restarting it fixes any communication problem.

I deleted the plist file before, tried it again, rebooted. No luck. The videos still go in the ToDo list on Tivo and stay there; no transfer ever takes place. I'm not sure if it is a Tivo problem or a Roxio problem.

Sorry, I don't know what else to suggest since all I get with Mac2TiVo on my TiVo Premiere is a folder with no contents. You at least see the contents. Until Roxio releases an update to work with my TiVo I have to use pyTiVoX instead which is working fine.
