Syncing audio and video

raul415

Question

I have a AVI file with the audio slightly out of syncs. I followed the instruction below for making the correction using Roxio 8 but I am using Roxio 2010 Pro and I'm wondering with the two tracks (the video and a separate audio extracted and saved from the video) how do I sync them up? I don't see a method for moving the audio up or down a frame or two so that it becomes in sync (and I don't mean the 80's singing group).

Thanks in advance

Go to the timeline mode and click on show/hide tracks. Put a check mark near native audio and make sure that one other audio track is checked - music is a good choice.. You will see those tracks show up. Select the native audio by clicking on it and then use the icon that looks like a speaker. When you click on that, you will see the option to mute the track. Now go back to add audio and select that file. You will get a dialog to add the music. Select one of the audio tracks that you are showing - music track. You can move the location of the music track to line up with the dialog. You may have to put a color panel before the video so that you can line it up.

Insert a short colored panel before the video. that allows to to get the audio started earlier. Make sure you see the hand (not finger) grabbing the audio track (about midway down)' left click + hold

Firstly, I only get the finger not the hand. How do I change this option.

Also, isn't there some way of adjusting the audio frame by frame instead of moving the sound dragging it?

Thanks!

You are not positioning the curser properly at the beginning or end of the audio track. There is no other way to move the audio track that I kn ow of.
