Roxio VHS to DVD or Creator 2010

lingil

Question

I have Creator 2009 and called sales to see about getting the Roxio VHS to DVD (59.99). Agent advises I MUST take Creator 2009 off my computer if get VHS to DVD and apparantly would have to do this everytime I want to use the video conversion program. I was told I should buy Creator 2010 and the VHS to DVD and both will work on my computer. Is this correct or did I misunderstand. I do not see why I need the 2010.....can anyone shed some light on this. I have struggled my way through 2009 and hate to think I have to try and learn a new program. Thanks.....LindaN...definitely not a "pro"!

First if you have C2009, why do you need VHS to DVD? All the apps in VHS to DVD are included in C2009. The only thing missing would be the USB Capture device which you can order separately. I think the USB device sells for $49.99. Other types of capture devices may also work like TV cards.

Yes, there is a conflict between C2009 and VHS to DVD so they can not exist on the same machine.

Actually there are 3 different versions of V2D, of which only the first one (1.1.124) would have any conflict with Creator 2009.

The current version (201B23A) has no conflict whatsoever with any version of Creator!

But while the requirements for the $49.99 stand alone device that Gary mentioned, claim Creator 2010 is needed… Here

I think it will run on Creator 2009 as long as you install the drivers that come with it. (drivers are built into Creator 2010).

I had Creator 2009 and when I upgraded from Vista to 7 and my Roxio Video Capture USB stopped capturing. Although the image showed the 'capture now' was greyed out. So I upgraded to Creator 2010 which was recommended and still can't capture. I've tried all their recommendations but to no avail. I guess I've wasted my money?
