I don't think "never buying another Roxio product again" will make the system see your BD drive.

 

If WINDOWS can't see your drive, access the Microsoft KnowledgeBase hereto fix Windows, and then reinstall Creator 2010 [since the Microsoft fix will uninstall vital Roxio bits].

 

If WINDOWS can see your drive and can operate with it but Creator 2010 can't, then download the PX Engine installer from here. Unzip the file into a spare folder on your hard drive and run the executable. Restart Windows and check Creator 2010 then.
