Video Capture & Convert

Question

Firstly,

I'd like to introduce myself as an IT Systems consultant with over 15 years experience in the IT industry & software implementation.

Now, over the last couple of years, I've come to enjoy "some" of the features of the (not so easy) Easy Media Creator version 7 -> 2010 as of this weekend past. So the versions I've upgraded to and have used have now been several.

However, as an IT specialist, I'm finding increasingly that the Roxio Media Creator product as a whole has become plagued with multi issues, compounded on top of an already over priced upgarde option ie; 2009 -> 2010. The "worth" of the current upgrade and the associated issues really put any Roxio upgrade at a value of $1.00 Why?,,, because half the product modules simply fail the test of software robustness !

Example: Robust;

•Capable of performing without failure under a wide range of conditions (Merriam Webster)

•Performs well not only under ordinary conditions but under unusual conditions that stress its designer's assumptions (The Linux Information Project)

•Accounts for and protects against certain classes of software (and/or hardware) errors or failures

The problem with this assumption is generally a lack of specifics, but honestly guys (Roxio dev) your product has become a hive of buggy issues.

This now leads to the issue I'd like to discuss - Video Capture & Convert - (what a joke. This program module dismally fails the simple test of "Robustness"

I decided to upgarde my previous of Roxio Media Creator 2009 to the latest 2010 pro software for a few reasons; looking into it, it appeared to be interface easier for the family to use as well as some newer-ish Ipod-i convert to options as well.

After paying the usual $150 AUD + upgrade fee I then installed and patched as required. You Tube videos are quite popular now, & I have various tastes in old 70's & 80's video hits that I wanted to convert & burn to a DVD (whether it be Double Layer 8.5gb or normal DVD -R 4.7gb) blank discs. O.K.... I hope your still hangin in there guys...

After going through the motions of online navigation & wizardry help files I finally get the selected You Tube videos downloaded into the Video Capture & Convert module. Ahhh, it's nearly there !!!!!,,,, But wait, (Houstan, we have a probelm,,,) the bloody convert & burn process does not work !!!!! Arrrgggghhh, after several attempts I've simply given up and decided to try another method. The fact that a simple process using the software with (current Spk2 & VCC patch) is an absolute nightmare. Other aspects I've found with the other modules in the program are also plagued with buggy issues.

I think you guys (Roxio) really need to go back to the drawing board with this software. The $150 + upgrade you've charged me really should be refunded. The product is crap & I'm now looking for a much more reliable & cheaper competitor. You've had your chance Roxio !!!!!!

Some of the Videos on You Tube are protected from downloading. Please post a link to a video that you tried and had problems with.

BTW, my earlier post had that same link you posted. I am using IE8 also but my version is slightly different. I don't thnk that would matter. Have you tried using a different browser like FF?

You need to apply the (Update Creator 2010 – Web Video Capture Patch).

Your version # should read SP 2.1 if it applied correctly..
