Ok, let me try to start from the beginning. I plug my video camera in to the computer and the roxio creator pops up. I went to capture video, clicked on the video I wanted and pressed the "import now" button. The video uploads and shows up at the right under recently imported. I can press play on the small video and it shows a very choppy poor quality preview of my video. From there, I close down the media import screen and click on "play movies." The Cineplayer opens and I go up to browse files and click on the video I want to play. The video attempts to load and thats when I receive the messege "format not supported. please install appropriate decoders to play file."

I was able to use the "copy and convert" function to convert a video to play on my ipad, so at least something is working for me. I just can't get it to play on the computer. I have a brand new HD monitor, however, the computer is about 5 years old. Perhaps it is missing something that is required to play HD videos. I don't know. Hope this is better info for you to work with.

Thanks

I don't think that the standard CinePlayer that comes with Creator 2010 will play HD video. I think that the one that comes in the Pro version does. Contact Roxio sales to see if you can get a discount on upgrading to the BE version.

Aslo update the drivers for your video card/chip. What computer do you have and what video card/chip. You will need a prettygood one to play HD well.
