Spanning Multiple Dvds

DGA

Question

I have Roxio Creator 2010. I watched to tutorial about burning data to a DVD. In the tutorial if the project size exceded the capacity on the DVD the number of disks required changed. At the bottom of the window it showed how many disks would be required. When I dragged my files to the appropriate window, the project was 8gb. However, the bottom window never changed to reflect the need for more disks. When I clicked on the green arrow to procede I got a window showing all f the files that would not be included. I can't find any thing in the menus to correct this situation.

Which specific program are you using in the Suite? There are 25+ different programs that burn.

Burn Data Disc is just one that happens to have a "green arrow", but you can see it does work:

Thank you Jim but I discovered the problem. I had put a DVD RW in the drive. It won't allow spanning across DVD RWs. They need to be Rs only. Thanks... Hope this helps anyone else that might have made the same mistake.

That is not correct  There is no such restriction whatsoever!

Look at my screen cap above and notice I am using a DVD-RW when I made it…

It will not show the number of discs required unless you have Blank media in the drive:

It has to know the disc capacity before it can calculate how many discs are needed.

I am glad you got it to work, just did not want to see any false info posted here ;)
